Six golfers from The Golf Club Keilir will be participating in the Irish Girls U18 Open Stroke Play Championship April 21st 2012

They look more like contestants in a beauty pageant, „our girls” who will be participating in the Irish Girls U 18 Open Stroke Play Championship held at Knightsbrook Hotel Spa and Golf Resort in County Meath, Ireland (Golf Heaven where a.o. fine golfcourses you´ll find Killeen Castle where the Solheim Cup 2011 was held!) The tournament starts next Saturday, April 21st 2012.  But don´t let good looks fool you, they are a fiercely competitive bunch and great golfers all of them.

The girls who are competing are the most promising, young, Icelandic golfers in the agegroup U 18, at the Golf Club Keilir in Hafnarfjörður, Iceland. They are: Anna Sólveig Snorradóttir,  Hildur Rún Guðjónsdóttir, Saga Ísafold Arnarsdóttir, Högna Kristbjörg Knútsdóttir, Guðrún Brá Björgvinsdóttir and Sara Margrét Hinriksdóttir.

The girls have been practicing with renowned golfinstructors and teaching pro´s at the Golf Club Keilir: Björgvin Sigurbergsson, Sigurgeir Páll Sveinsson and Jóhann Kristján Hjaltason, this past winter.

Although the goals of the girls differ a bit the participation in the tournament will be a nice experience and good preparation for next  summer.
