Leifsstaðir a hidden Pitch & Putt gem in the North of Iceland

Leifsstaðir is a demanding 9 hole par-3 Pitch & Putt Gem built on the slopes of a mountain, in Eyjafjörður near Akureyri, the capital of North-Iceland.

If you come to visit the North of Iceland for a golfbreak, the perfect time for it is by the end of June, when you can take part in the Arctic Open on Jaðarsvöllur, which is a beautiful par-71, 18 hole course, the northernmost in Europe.  It (the Jaðar golfcourse) will be introduced later here on Golf 1 in detail. Arctic Open will be held June 28th 2012 this year and you can get all further information HERE:

But while competing in the midnight sun in the Arctic Open is in itself well worth the travel to Akureyri, be sure not to miss the little Leifsstaðir course, which is in meticulous condition and a perfect place to practice your short game.
