Three Seniors who play golf in disastrous weather in Iceland

It´s been a while since there have been Icelandic golfnews in English here on Golf 1, but by no means have we stopped writing them. In fact this summer was just a test on whether there would be any interest at all in such articles. Well, there is.  Thank you all who have been so kind to make inquires about our golfnews from Iceland – one is rather overwhelmed how much interest there is, also abroad, in Golf in Iceland.

No worries we´ll keep you up to date on what´s been happening in golf in Iceland, since autumn/fall is a good time to relax and reflect on what this summer has brought us.  Alot of making up and reflection articles coming your way in English and also some intros about our young, brilliant golfers  who play golf at Universities and Colleges in the US, to mention a few.

Here is one bit of news that´s really worth writing about.  While the big tours have taken their game to the Far East there are some  avid golfers in the northern part of Europe who defy all kinds of weather in order to play the game we all love…. which is rather necessary this time around in Iceland.

Not only New York and Yalong Bay are being hit by Typhoons also here in Iceland strong winds have been blazeing these past few days, so much that there are roof tiles flying around like frisbee discs and rescue squads are being called out.

That didn´t stop 3 determined Seniors, who play golf every day at the golfcourse of Kópavogur and Garðabær (abbreviated: GKG).

They just couldn´t be bothered by such minute things as bad weather and definately didn´t let it disturb their daily round of golf!
