NGA Pro Tour: Þórður Rafn had a score of 77 in Harmony
Yesterday the 4th tournament of the NGA Pro Tour – Bridgestone Winter Series took place in Harmony, Florida. The venue is the Harmony Golf Preserve. Participants are 88 and among those is Þórður Rafn Gissurarson, from the Golf Club Reykjavík (GR). Þórður Rafn finished yesterday at a score of 5 over par, 77 strokes, he got a birdie, 12 pars, 4 bogeys and 1 double bogey and is T-76 at the moment along with TJ Regan from Lynnfield, Massachusetts. Three Icelanders are participating at the International European Amateur Championship
Axel Bóasson, Keilir Golf Club, Kristján Þór Einarsson, Keilir Golf Club and Ólafur Björn Loftsson, Nes Golf Club in Icleand are participating in the International European Amateur Championship. The venue for the tournament is Montgomerie Golf Course at the Carton House Club in Ireland. It´s a 72 hole tournament lasting from August 8th-August 11th 2012. Some of Europe´s most famous and highest ranked golfers today have won the tournament a.o. Sergio Garcia 1995 and Rory McIlroy 2006. Haraldur Franklín Magnús and Valdís Þóra Jónsdóttir Icelandic Champions in Stroke Play
The 4th tournament of the Eimskip series, The Icelandic Championship in Stroke Play, took place this past week, July 26th-29th 2012. Icelandic Champions in Stroke Play are Haraldur Franklín Magnús, from Golf Club Reykjavík (abbreviated GR) and Valdís Þóra Jónsdóttir, from Golf Club Leynir (abbreviated GL) in Akranes. The Championship this year was exciting to say the least. In the Women´s flight the final contestants were 3: Valdís Þóra and Anna Sólveig Snorradóttir and Tinna Jóhannsdóttir, the two latter mentioned from Golf Club Keilir (abbreviated GK) in Hafnarfjörður. Three hot, young players lead after the 3rd day of the Icelandic Championship in Stroke Play
After the 3rd day of the Icelandic Championship in Stroke Play has come to an end there are three hot, young players in the lead. Valdís Þóra Jónsdóttir, GL. Mynd: Golf 1 In the Women´s flight it´s Valdís Þóra Jónsdóttir, GL and Texas State, who has a 1 stroke lead on Tinna Jóhannsdóttir, from Keilir Golf Club. Anna Sólveig Snorradóttir, Valdís Þóra Jónsdóttir and Sigmundur Einar Másson lead after the 2nd day of the Icelandic Championship in Stroke Play
The second day of the Icelandic Championship in Stroke Play came to an end today. And there was a cut. Only the 18 with the best score and ties of 27 competitors in the women´s flight continue and the T-72´s in the men´s flight. Sigmundur Einar Másson of the Golf Club of Kópavogur and Garðabær (abbreviated: GKG) has taken the lead in the men´s flight. His score after 2 days is 3 under par (Strandarvöllur the Golf Course of Hella Golf Club is par-70). The first day of the Icelandic Championship in Stroke Play started today. The first honorary stroke was struck by Jón Ásgeir Eyjólfsson, president of the Icelandic Golf Association. His golf stroke was straight and pin point on the fairway. Thus the 70th Championship commenced. This is also the 70th Anniversary of the Icelandic Golf Association. The Icelandic Championship in Stroke Play starts tomorrow
The Icelandic Championship in Stroke Play takes place July 26th-29th and this is the 70th time the Championship is being held. The Icelandic Golf Association celebrates its 70th anniversary aswell this year. The Championship is the highlight of each summer of the Eimskip tournament series, since what the competition is all about are the most prestigious and venerable titles in Icelandic golf. This year the Icelandic Championship in Stroke Play is being held on Strandarvöllur and is being managed by Hella Golf Club. The Icelandic Championship in Stroke Play starts at the Golf Club Hella July 26th-29th. Golf Club Hella celebrates its 60th anniversay this year.
