Gísli Sveinbergsson Icelandic Junior Champion in the age group 15-16 yr. old boys in Stroke Play 2012

Gísli Sveinbergsson, Golf Club Keilir, became Icelandic Junior Champion in Stroke Play 2012 today, in the age group 15-16 yrs. at the White River Golf Course in the South of Iceland.  The course is very difficult yet beautiful and scenic. Gísli played the 3 rounds on a combined score of 220 strokes  (73 71 76). Gísli had the best combined score of all 147 contestants. Birgir Björn Magnússon, Golf Club Keilir, which Golf 1 introduced yesterday, came in 2nd place. Birgir Björn Magnússon had the best score on the 2nd day of the Icelandic Junior Championship in Stroke Play

A young and promising golfer, Birgir Björn Magnússon, from Keilir Golf Club, had the best score at the 2nd round of the Icelandic Junior Championship in Stroke Play.  The Championship is taking place on 20th-22nd of July 2012 at the hard, trying, White River Golf Course in the South of Iceland.  The Golf Course is 5429 meters (5937 yards) from the yellow tees and par-71. Guðrún Brá Björgvinsdóttir set a new course record from the blue tees at the White River Golf Course today

Today the 4th of 6  Arion bank sponsored Junior Golf tournaments took place at the beautiful and extremely scenic White River Golf Course in South Iceland. This 4th tournament is actually the Icelandic Junior Championship in Stroke Play. The defending champion in the age group of 17-18 year old girls is Guðrún Brá Björgvinsdóttir from the Golf Club Keilir in Hafnarfjörður, Iceland. Introducing Icelanders who play on US College Golfteams no. 6: Valdís Þóra Jónsdóttir

Valdís Þóra is one of about 15 Icelanders that studies in the US and plays golf collegically.  Valdis Þóra studies and plays golf with the Texas State University golfteam.  She is a multiple Icelandic Champion in golf and Athlete of the Year in her hometown Akranes 4 years in a row, 2007-2010. On July 11th – 14th 2012 there were Club Championships in Valdís´s Golf Club in Akranes, i.e. Leynir GC.  Valdís was the defending Champion and defending the title she did. Keilir Golf Club will host the European Men´s Challenge Trophy held July 12th-14th

Keilir Golf Club has the great honour of hosting the European Men’s Challenge Trophy, held in Iceland 12th-14th July, 2012. Sunna T-14 in the European Girls Team Championship – Stefán Már and Þórður made the cut at the Bayreuth Open

The Icelandair Volcano Open tournament 2012

One of the most popular open tournaments in Iceland, The Icelandair Volcano Open came to an end today, July 8th 2012, on the beautiful Westmanna Islands golfcourse.
