Golf in March/April 2012 in Iceland
You might not think it possible to be playing golf in Iceland as early as in March or April. But fact is that golf junkies in Iceland play golf all year round and don´t let bad weather bother them. In the winter some simply play winter golf (which will be introduced later) Icelanders are used to bad weather on the golfcourse, one is lucky when it doesn´t hail. Bubba Watson: “This day and age I don´t see that it would hurt (allowing women to become members at Augusta National)”
Bubba Watson the newly crowned Champion at the Masters was interviewed by Piers Morgan on CNN, yesterday, April 10th 2012. The interview touched on a „hot” subject these days, i.e. whether Augusta National should allow women to become members at the „Old Boys Club” i.e. Agusta National. Watson took a rather diplomatic position, since he probably doesn´t want step on anyones toes at Augusta so shortly after his great victory. He´s also in a rather prickly situation. On behalf of Iceland the Icelandic travelagency World Tours (in Icelandic: Heimsferðir) and the golfwebsite Golf1.is were invited to participate. On May 3rd – 5th 2011 Cádiz Turismo in Spain invited golfwriters and travelagents from all over Europe to participate in a meeting held at Arcos Gardens on tourism in the region, with special emphasise on golf. Introducing: Krysztina Batta twice Amateur Golf Champion from Hungary
Crysztina Batta from Hungary won the Cadiz Cup 2011, which took place at the Arcos Gardens golfcourse in Spain, May 5th 2011 this spring. She has twice won the Hungarian Amateur Golf Championship. She started writing about golf on a golfnews webpage but is now a md at a golftravel agency, which specializes in inbound and outbound golftourism in Hungary.
