Gísli Sveinbergsson crowned Duke of York Young Champion 2014

Gísli Sveinbergsson from the Golf Club Keilir in Hafnarfjörður, Iceland, won the Duke of York Young Champions Trophy, the annual 54 hole Stroke Play Tournament for Under 18 Girl and Boy Champions. The Patron and co-founder with John Simpson of the tournament is HRH The Duke of York, Prince Andrew. The Tournament took place September 16th-18th 2014 at the Royal Aberdeen Golf Club in Aberdeen, Scotland. Gisli played two rounds and had a combined score of 5-under-par, playing the first round in 69 strokes and the second in 68 strokes. Þórður Rafn victorious at Calcot Park

Þórður Rafn Gissurarson, (short: Thor Gissurarson) from Golf Club Reykjavík in Iceland, won his first tournament as s a pro at the Jamega Pro Golf Tour in England. The tournament took place in this preceding weekend (June 29th-30th 2014)  at Calcot Park and participants were 74. This was a 36-hole event. Þórður Rafn played a total of 5-under-par 135 strokes. (67 68); one stroke better than Simon Griffiths and  Craig Hinton from England, both of whom were at 4 under par, each. Þórður Rafn missed the cut in Turkey

Þórður Rafn Gissurarson, GR (Golf Club Reykjavík) took part in the Sueno Dunes Classic tournament in Turkey, the tournament being part of the German  Pro Golf Tour. The Sueno Dunes Classic was a 3 round tournment taking place January 21st-23rd 2014. Unfortunatelly Þórður Rafn didn´t have his best day – his score in the 2nd round was five over par, 74 strokes and he missed the cut. In the 2nd round Þórður Rafn made 2 birdies, 5 bogeys and one double bogey. He had a total score of 8 over par, 146 strokes (72 74) and ended up T-49, out of 84 participants. Guðrún Brá joins the Bulldogs at Fresno State

Gudrun Brá Björgvinsdóttir, GK (Golf Club Keilir in Hafnarfjörður Iceland)  joins the growing number of young Icelandic golfers, who play on American College Golf Teams in the U.S. Guðrún Brá will join the Bulldogs, i.e. the women´s golf team of Fresno State University in California. Kristófer Orri T-7 at the Pars Junior in Orlando

Three of the most promising young golfers of GKG (Golf Club of Kópavogur and Garðabær) in Iceland spent their Christmas vacation along with their family in Orlando and participated in the intense PARS Junior Tournament. The tournament took place December 28.- 30. 2013 and was held at Orange County National, a resort many Icelanders are familiar with, since the Icelandic National Golf Team for serveral  years came to practice there.
