Reflection on what happened in the world of golf last week no. 3: Icelanders on the German EPD Tour

There are two Icelandic golfers, Stefán Már Stefánsson (GR) and Þórður Rafn Gissurarsson (GR) who have been playing on the German 3rd tier EPD Tour this past winter and spring – (The Icelandic Club the Icelandic golfer belongs to is always indicated abbreviated behind their names on Icelandic golfwebsites).

They have participated in 9 tournments held in Turkey and Marocco this past winter and beginning of spring 2012  The Open Madaef, Amelkis Classic, Al Maaden, Open Mogador, Sueno Pines Classic, Sueno Dunes Classic, Gloria Old Course Classic and the Gloria New Course Classic)  At the time being they are taking part in the Open Dar Es Salam Tournament in Marocco. This is a 3 day tournament, which started yesterday April 15th and ends tomorrow April 17th. After 2 rounds there is a cut.

Þórður Rafn didn´t make the cut this time. He played the 2 rounds at a score of 78 76 and was at a combined score of +8 over par. The cut was +7 over par. So he was 1 stroke from making the cut.

Stefán Már on the other hand had a combined score of +3 over par (76 73) and is currently T-18.

The final round will be played tomorrow and Stefán Már is among the 40 who gets to play.
